For these projects I found simple photoshop tutorials that furthered my skills. During these projects I learned how to use the quick select tool and other tools in new ways.
My favorite project this year was the grime portrait. Although it didn’t come out exactly how I wanted it, it was still fun to work on. I think the project I grew the most on was the futuristic city project. This project showed me how using lighting and angles to can completely change a photo. During photo a day and anytime after the futuristic city project I used different angles to get better photos. I did not find any real benefit in the CMYK project other than how to make things different colors in photoshop. I do not think the CMYK project really benefited my photography skills but it was still fun and I did learn about cmyk printing. This class has made me a better photographer. This class has made me look at things from different angles and I learned how to create mood in a photo. I think this class is valuable because an average picture doesn't say much but a good picture can tell a story. Photos are can deliver a strong message and that is why it is so important to know how to take them.
For this project we learned about forced perspective, forced perspective is when an image creates an optical illusion. In this image it looks like John is doing a sit up on the floor but he is actually jumping on the wall.
A CYMK photo uses four colors: cyan, magenta, yellow and key (black). When the colors cross they create new colors. For this project we overlapped different colored portraits in photoshop to create a CMYK photo.
Closed corner, this is when something is blocking the corner of your photo. Half shape, this is when the subject of the photo is cut in half. Fused edges, frame, this is when the subject of the photo clips the frame of the photo. Fused edges, shapes, this is when the edges of two shapes in a photo are connected. Hidden edge, this is when an object is blocking the edge of another object making it seem like there is no edge. Split apex, this is when the photo has an awkward split. Stolen edge, this is when one edge blocks the another and it confuses the viewer. Antlers, this is when the background looks like a growth on the subject of the photo. Skimmed edge, this is when a horizontal and vertical edge intersect.
For this project we tried to get cool pictures by using a projector and projecting shapes and images on a background.
